Welcome to Liepaja

Liepaja has a special relationship with the road rally. Liepaja is the place, where almost fifty years ago the foundation of the Latvian rally culture was laid and the first rally races were organized. At that time many people did not know anything about rally and its organization, but they were enthusiastic and willing to yield to this temptation of engine roaring and adrenalin.

I myself come from a family, where rally traditions and values are highly prized — my father Mārtiņš Sesks is a rally specialists and one of the founders of this sport in Latvia and both I and my children continue to share this passion.

Thus I am truly pleased to welcome so many professional and experienced highest class sportsmen in Liepaja. I am sure that the rally in the Liepāja neighbourhood will be exciting and brisk and will ensure the possibility to show the best performance both for pier sportsmen and spectators. I just want to wish to you all, what we usually with to all motorsportsmen in Latvia – break a ditch!
